The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) is implementing changes to its strategy and structure to modernise our approach to the services we provide to the screen production industry.

This is an exciting time to join the team at the NZFC. This new position is in our Funding team, which works out of our Auckland office.

The Film Production Lead is responsible for supporting our feature film production funding decision-making. To be successful in this position you will understand film production and film production financing, planning and budgeting. The Film Production Lead is our in-house expert advisor on the production plans and funding bids of applicants for production funding. They also advise internally on the financial aspects of co-production projects and the screen production rebate applications associated with screen productions.

The ability to assess production risks and the potential financial implications of this will be a critical requirement for the successful candidate.

The Film Production Lead manages the Commission’s financial interest in films that are being produced with NZFC funding.  They authorise film production expenditure and oversee NZFC film financing ensuring appropriate controls are in place. They ensure that the film projects that have been funded by the NZFC progress through the production process as agreed and within the approved funding parameters ensuring that the film projects deliver against the contracted obligations.
