Queen’s Honour for NZFC Chair Patsy Reddy
The New Zealand Film Commission wishes to congratulate Dame Patsy Reddy on her recognition in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Dame Patsy has been appointed a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the Arts and Business.
She has served as Chair of the NZFC since 2009 and last year played an instrumental role in advising the Government ahead of the introduction of the New Zealand Screen Production Grant. The grant changed the structure and level of support for screen incentives.
Dame Patsy has contributed significantly to the arts and not-for-profit sectors. She has served as Chair of the New Zealand Film Archive and on the Boards of New Zealand Opera, VUW Foundation, NZSO Foundation, Adam Art Gallery and as a trustee of the New Zealand International Arts Festival, the Wellington Jazz Festival, the Telecom Art Trust, the VUW Art Collection Trust and the Sky City Auckland Community Trust.
Patsy is a company director and consultant. She is currently Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Transport Agency, a director of Payments NZ and private equity firm Active Equity Holdings, and is a Chief Crown Negotiator for Treaty Settlements in the Bay of Plenty. She has had more than 25 years of corporate governance experience as non-executive director of a wide range of companies in New Zealand including Telecom New Zealand, Sky City Entertainment Group, Air New Zealand and New Zealand Post.
She graduated LLM (Hons) from Victoria University of Wellington and is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
Fellow NZFC board members, NZFC Chief Executive Dave Gibson and the rest of the NZFC staff wish to congratulate Dame Patsy on this fitting recognition.
